Shane bought his first drum kit in 1977 and along with a couple of mates started playing in a 4 piece band, calling themselves Ltd Edition. They only did a couple of gigs and then two members left and it all fell apart.
Fast forward to 2010 and Kevin, a friend of Shane’s started to learn guitar, Kev got together with a bass player and another guitarist and wanted to start a band, but couldn’t find a drummer, so he persuaded Shane to play with them. As the original drum kit had been sold many years before, Shane sourced and bought another kit and after much rehearsal, “Once Through The Cooler” got good enough to play a few pub gigs!
Kit Matthews approached Shane about playing for the Falcons, but he was reluctant to commit to a second band, but, as a couple of years later, The Falcons were still looking for a drummer, he decided to give it a go. Shane now plays in both bands.
Shane says he had always fancied singing, but never had the confidence in the past, but as you get older you start to think “what’s the worst that could happen”, so he now sings a few numbers with both bands.
